Small Engine Tapered Shaft Adapter - Are all tapered shafts on small engines made to the same standard or dimensions ? For bigger engines check ebay for tapered shaft engines. This one's about got us stumped. But, from what i have seen, the shaft will probably be smaller diameter than the one on a. I know there are various sizes but are all tapers the same ? Im not too sure of my calculations, but i come up with 3.62* taper per side (7.24* included) and.126 taper per inch.
I want to lovejoy it to a 10kw belt generator head. I got a dewalt branded 196cc for $135 shipped (minus tank and muffler). I can't believe how much tension we put on that puller and it would not budge. If so, you could probably cut the tapered end off and still have enough length to be usable. I was told some of the hit & miss guys pull fly wheels off tapered shafts.
